Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Trovu ("the app"), a Jellyfin client for Apple TV. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Trovu is a media player application for Apple TV that connects to Jellyfin media servers owned and operated by you. The app provides an interface to browse, search, and play media content stored on your Jellyfin servers. Trovu does not host, store, or provide any media content.

2. User Responsibilities

• You are responsible for your own Jellyfin server, its configuration, and the content stored on it.
• You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to access and play all content on your servers.
• You are responsible for securing your Jellyfin server and credentials.
• You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Trovu offers a free tier and a premium subscription ("Trovu Pro") through Apple's in-app purchase system.

3.1 Free Tier

The free tier provides access to all app features for content up to 1080p resolution. There are no time limits, feature restrictions, or content limits beyond resolution.

3.2 Trovu Pro Subscription

• Trovu Pro unlocks playback of content above 1080p resolution, including 4K and HDR10.
• Subscription options include monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans. Pricing is set in Apple's App Store Connect and may vary by region.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Lifetime purchases are one-time payments with no recurring charges.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple TV Settings > Users & Accounts > your Apple ID > Subscriptions.

3.3 Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

4. Apple's Standard EULA

Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA), which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

5. Intellectual Property

The Trovu app, including its design, code, and branding, is our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app.

Jellyfin is an open-source project with its own licensing. Trovu is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Jellyfin project. "Jellyfin" is a trademark of the Jellyfin project.

6. Third-Party Services

The app integrates with the following third-party services:

• Jellyfin: Your self-hosted media server. Governed by your own server's terms and the Jellyfin project's licenses.
• RevenueCat: Subscription management and purchase processing. Subject to RevenueCat's Terms of Service.
• TheTVDB: Supplementary metadata for cast and series information. Subject to TheTVDB's Terms of Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all media formats or server configurations.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the app.

9. Modifications to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
