Getting Started
- Open Trovu on your Apple TV
- Enter your Jellyfin server address (URL or IP)
- Use Quick Connect to authenticate with a pin code, or enter your username and password
- Your library will sync in the background. Browse and play while it loads.
Playback
Trovu plays most formats directly without server transcoding:
- Video: H.264, HEVC, AV1, VP9, MPEG-4
- Containers: MP4, MKV, WebM, MOV, HLS, MPEG-TS
- Audio: AAC, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, DTS, TrueHD
- Subtitles: SRT, ASS, VTT (embedded and external)
If a file isn't playing, check that your Jellyfin server is accessible and the file format is in the supported list above.
Subscription
- Restore purchases: Open Settings in Trovu and select "Restore Purchases"
- Manage subscription: Apple TV Settings > Users & Accounts > your Apple ID > Subscriptions
- Cancel anytime: Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time through Apple TV Settings
- Free tier: All features work up to 1080p with no time limits
Multi-Server
- Add multiple Jellyfin servers from the server management screen in Settings
- View all servers together or filter by server on the home screen
- Search, continue watching, and recently added all work across servers
- Each server maintains its own session and credentials
